"Joining Upward Bound provided me with opportunities to become a leader while surrounding me with other college bound students just like me."
—Julio Uribe
Upward Bound (UB) is a federally funded outreach program that provides services to local high school students from disadvantaged backgrounds. The program provides opportunities for participants to succeed in their pre-college performance and ultimately in their higher education pursuits. The goal of Upward Bound is to increase the rate at which participants complete secondary education and enroll in and graduate from institutions of postsecondary education.
